CREATING A TIMELESS LOOK
WHEN IT COMES TO PATTERNS & PRINTS…
Try to avoid thick, horizontal lines or stripes as these can tend to make you appear larger than you are.
Avoid logos as much as possible - style changes and the places you shop likely will as well. Make sure it's not the detail you notice right away when you look at these 10 years from now
When in doubt, opt for smaller prints or solid colors.
WHEN IT COMES TO FIT…
Steer clear of skin tight clothing like bodycon dresses, short skirts, and shorts if you’ll spend time messing with or worrying about your outfit during the shoot.
For women, wrap dresses and skirts which are the most universally flattering, yet incredibly comfortable items for women; not to mention they add so much movement and photograph beautifully.
FABRICS & MATERIALS
Texture adds so much visual interest to photographs. Items like cable-knit sweaters, rich leather, accordion skirts, faux fur, chambray, denim, and lace all will make your pictures pop.
WHEN IT COMES TO COLOR
Customize the Color Palette to Match Your Pad
There's no better way to decorate your space than with framed prints and portraits of you and your loved ones, and chances are once it's up, that photo will be there for a while. That said, consider the colors of your home when selecting your outfits. Planning for your maternity session? Consider wearing colors that compliment your babe's nursery.
When In Doubt, Think of Mother Nature
Not sure what color to go to? Think of things that would be found organically in nature; earth tones will almost always go together, and they flatter most skin tones.
